From Classroom to Cultivation: Transitioning into Hydroponics with Brio’s TPA program

In this highly-technological phase, the traditional agriculture is taking a switch, transitioning towards Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) in order to meet food safety & security demands. The need for a proper awareness i.e. education for the aspirants becomes unavoidable. In the Hi-Tech Industry like Hydroponics, theoretical knowledge alone doesn’t land you professionalism, it’s deep down the practical insights that make the difference and enforce the change. Brio Hydroponics’ Training Academy bridges this gap through its flagship Training & Placement Assistance (TPA)Program which is exclusive for Agriculture Graduates & Post Graduates curious about entering the hydroponics industry & kickstart their career.

Transition of the career from traditional agriculture to Hi-Tech Hydroponics can result in technological advancements, skill development and seizing what the new trends claim to offer. In the past decade, hydroponics in India has been growing exponentially - Creating Opportunities for Enthusiasts, Agri Investors & Agripreneurs.

Hands on Hydroponics: Inside Brio’s 2 Week Intensive Training Module

Brio Academy strongly believes that, “Real Skills come from Real Experiences”, thus provides access to all the necessary infrastructure, environment and latest technologies for the students to learn and adept. Brio’s TPA program provides hands on learning in Hi-tech hydroponics setup to avail the benefits and learnings of the latest technology and the processes.

The students go through a 2-week learning phase at Brio’s live hydroponics farms. Week 1 introduces the basics of hydroponics, including system types, water chemistry & nutrient formation. Trainees practically learn about germination techniques and the significance of pH & EC management. In Week 2, the focus shifts towards the climate control – such as fans, foggers, & various automation equipment. Learners explore plant health monitoring & harvesting techniques. By the end of the Second week participants gain, real time exposure to maintaining a live farm, ready to apply their skills professionally.

Beyond Training – Navigating the Probation period towards full time employment

After the successful completion of the 2 weeks intensive on-farm hydroponics training, Brio’s structured 12-month probation is divided into two phases. In the first 6 months, trainees earn a stipend of INR 6,000/month while handling tasks like sowing, nutrient preparation, and system checks. In the next 6 months, the stipend increases to INR 12,000/month as responsibilities expand to include crop cycle planning, data logging, and team coordination.

The progressive model ensures hands-on learning, skill refinement, and readiness for full-time roles. In the probation period the trainees’ performance & metrics continuously for analyzing the scope for improvements. After the probation period, the trainee is placed in a Unit, as a full-time employee for the technical role with skill traits such as – consistent performance, accuracy in nutrient and climate management, teamwork and problem solving under real-time farm conditions. Strong communication & intrapersonal skills, punctuality and proactive approach to crop health and system maintenance.

Success Stories – Alumni Experiences from Brio Academy’s TPA Program

At Brio Hydroponics, success isn’t just taught, its cultivated. The Training & Placement Assistance (TPA) Program has become a launchpad for many agriculture graduates who aspire to enter the field of Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) and Hydroponics. From Learning the basics of soilless farming to securing full time roles in modern hydroponics farms, Brio alumni have inspiring journeys that reflect both personal growth and professional success.

Let’s dive into the story of Rohan Meena, a B.Sc. Agriculture graduate from Rajasthan. With very little exposure about hydroponics before joining Brio Academy, Rohan was eager but inexperienced. After completing the 2-week intensive on farm training, and the 1-year probation period. Rohan is now a Farm Supervisor at a commercial hydroponics setup in Gujarat. Similarly, Anjali Patel transitioned from Intern to Crop Planning Officer within 18 Months, overseeing the full plant life cycle and mentoring new trainees.

Many Alumni admit the transition from classroom learning to the on-field practical learning wasn’t easy. The biggest of hurdles? Understanding automation systems, managing farm operations and ensuring climate control consistency. But Brio’s Training, packed with live farm exposure, expert mentorship and professional trainers assisted them to tackle all the challenge and overcome them.
